IN BRIEF Chandigarh: A swindler allegedly duped a Sector 46 resident of Rs 15,998 by withdrawing the money from the victim’s bank account. Complainant Ajay Kumar reported that he received a phone call from a person, who claimed to be an SBI employee. The caller convinced the victim to share information about his credit card. The victim also shared the OTP received on his mobile phone. Later, he found Rs 15,998 withdrawn from his account. A case has been registered at the Sector 34 police station. TNS Theft reported from house Chandigarh: A theft was reported from a house in Ram Darbar from where jewellery and cash were stolen. Puneet, a resident of Ram Darbar, Phase 1, reported that a gold chain, a nose pin, three sets of silver anklets, a silver necklace and Rs 44,000 were stolen from his house on the intervening night of November 9 and 10. The police have registered a case at the Sector 31 police station. TNS Chandigarh: Two wheels of a car were stolen in Sector 40. Complainant Ashish Kainthla, a resident of Sector 40, reported that two wheels of his Baleno car were stolen while it was parked near his house on the intervening night of November 10 and 11. A case has been registered at the Sector 39 police station. TNS Woman crushed to death Kharar: An unidentified woman, aged about 60, was killed on the spot when she was crushed under a crane at the Kurali bus stand on Tuesday afternoon. Kurali City SHO Kulwant Singh said they were trying to establish the identity of the woman. OC
