Three killed as bus hits bike

Fatehgarh Sahib, December 2Three labourers were killed when a speeding private bus hit their bike near Kharori village on the Sirhind-Patiala road late on Sunday night. Two of the victims were identified as Salaudin, a resident of Rajasthan, and Bahadur, a resident of Nepal. A bus of a private company (PB11BN 9055) hit their bike in the rear and dragged them to some distance, resulting in the death of two of the victims on the spot. The third person injured in the mishap was rushed to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning. The SHO said the bus had been impounded, adding that its driver fled the spot.

Manpreet Singh, SHO, Mullerpur police station, said the incident took place around 10 pm when the victims riding a motorcycle (PB11CS 7039) were heading towards Patiala from the Sirhind side. A bus of a private company (PB11BN 9055) hit their bike in the rear and dragged them to some distance, resulting in the death of two of the victims on the spot. The third person injured in the mishap was rushed to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning.
