CHB holds draw for 416 flats in Maloya

Tribune News ServiceChandigarh December 2The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) today conducted a computerised draw for the allotment of 416 flats in Maloya to occupants of pre-fab shelters of Sector 52. Yashpal Garg Chief Executive Officer CHB said 13 applicants who had submitted disability certificates were allotted flats on the ground floor. To follow Covid-related protocol live telecast of the draw was streamed on YouTube and at the site of pre-fab shelters through a display van. The CHB had already held two draws on November 10 and 25 for the allotment of 352 flats and 448 flats respectively and the last draw would be held on December 10. The UT Administration has decided to re-locate the residents of pre-fab shelters in Sector 52 and 56 to EWS flats at Maloya-I.

Garg said physical possession of flats at Maloya-I would be handed over from Tuesday in a staggered manner to avoid rush and to ensure compliance of the social distancing norms. The water and electricity connections would be issued on the day of the physical possession he added. The CHB had already held two draws on November 10 and 25 for the allotment of 352 flats and 448 flats respectively and the last draw would be held on December 10. The UT Administration has decided to re-locate the residents of pre-fab shelters in Sector 52 and 56 to EWS flats at Maloya-I. The project is being implemented under the Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs) Scheme of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Last opportunity Some of the occupants of pre-fab shelters have requested the UT for another opportunity for the submission of application forms. All such remaining occupants whose names are included in the survey list may submit their application forms at the CHB office on Monday.
