Woman hangs self to death at Phase XI

Mohali December 2A 26-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house in Phase XI here this afternoon. The incident came to light when her husband returned home from his duty at an eye hospital in Sohana. When nobody answered the knocks at the door he entered the room from its rear side by breaking open the door with the help of some neighbours. The woman was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the room. On getting information the police reached the spot and shifted the body to the Civil Hospital in Phase VI.

The deceased has been identified as Priyanka Rana a native of Kangra in HP. She along with her husband was putting up in a rented accommodation. The incident came to light when her husband returned home from his duty at an eye hospital in Sohana. He found the door of a room bolted from inside. When nobody answered the knocks at the door he entered the room from its rear side by breaking open the door with the help of some neighbours. The woman was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the room. On getting information the police reached the spot and shifted the body to the Civil Hospital in Phase VI. — TNS
