Chandigarh: Two persons have been arrested by the crime branch of the UT police for allegedly stealing two-wheelers. The suspects Vicky (19) a resident of Sector 25 and Joginder (22) a resident of Dadu Majra village were arrested at a naka in Sector 25 while riding a stolen motorcycle. The police said the motorcycle was stolen from an area falling under the jurisdiction of the Industrial Area police station. Their interrogation led to the recovery of another motorcycle which was stolen from an area under the jurisdiction of the Sector 17 police station. The police have registered a case at the Sector 36 police station on the complaint of a girl a resident of Sonipat Haryana. The girl was returning from Jammu and Kashmir. Pradeep Singh was elected as the general secretary and Arvind Singh as the treasurer. The officials also announced that various championships such as Chandigarh State Championship National Federation Cup (Lucknow) Mr India and Junior Championships (Ludhiana) will be held next month. In the 35-kg category Anshika claimed first position followed by Sweety at the second position. In the U-12 (40kg) category Raveena claimed the first position and Charvi bagged the second spot. Taniya and Priyanshi claimed the joint third position. TNS Rahul shines in pencak silat cship Chandigarh: Rahul Sharma CSE of the Sri Sukhmani Institute of Engineering & Technology Dera Bassi set a new record by winning a gold medal in the 3rd Pencak Silat State Championship at Faridkot. Sharma won the gold in the open class category in the championship which was organised by the Pencak Silat Sports Association of Punjab and recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
