Repeat offender District Magistrate Mandip Singh Brar on Wednesday ordered the further sealing of Sector 9 based Pipe and Barrel from April 8 to 12 on account of repeated violations. The club had been earlier sealed twice for three days on December 29 2020 and January 10 2021. An FIR under Sections 188 and 270 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 58 of the Disaster Management Act was registered against Pipe and Barrel at Sector 3 police station on April 5 for serving hookah to customers. District Magistrate Mandip Singh Brar ordered the further sealing of the club from April 8 to 12 on account of repeated violations. The Administration has already imposed a ban on serving of flavored hookahs including tobacco molasses containing nicotine for smoke or consumption in hotels restaurants bars taverns hookah bars etc. Earlier the UT Administration had decided to shut the premises for three days and punish the owner or the manager under various provisions of the Disaster Management Act.
