Tribune News ServiceChandigarh April 7Panjab University Teachers Association (PUTA) has complained to the Chancellor alleging that the PU Vice-Chancellor has “unethically” appointed a faculty member from Hotel and Tourism Management as Director Sports. Dr Prashant Gautam has been given the additional charge of the Sports Department. “There are a number of senior persons in the Department of Sports and Physical Education who have been ignored for the coveted post for reasons best known to the Vice-Chancellor. PUTA urges the Chancellor to immediately intervene and direct the Vice-Chancellor to withdraw the orders.”The post of PU Sports Director has been vacant since October 2020 after the untimely death of Parminder Singh.
