Tribune Web Desk Chandigarh April 7 The Chandigarh Administration on Wednesday issued new guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. District Magistrate Mandip Singh Brar ordered that there shall be prohibition on movement of individuals for all non-essential activities between 10:30 pm to 5 am in Chandigarh. No person shall leave their homes or shall move on foot or by vehicle or travel or stand or roam around on any road or public places during above said hours the order said. However the movement of following persons and services shall be exempt: 1. Those tasked with law & order/emergency and municipal services/duties including Executive Magistrates police personnel Military/CAPF personnel in uniform health electricity fire media persons with accreditation and government machinery tasked with COVID-19 related duties (all on production of Identity Card). 2. Those specially issued a restricted movement curfew pass by the officers authorised in this behalf. 3. There shall be no curbs on inter-state and intra-state movement of essential and non-essential goods. 4. All vehicles/persons on bona fide transit (inter-state/intra-state) shall be allowed to pass but only after due verification of point of origin and destination. 5. Hospitals chemist shops and ATMs shall be allowed to remain open 24X 7. 6. Pregnant women and patients for getting medical/health services. 7. Passengers going to or returning from airport or railway station or ISBT shall be exempted. 8. All restaurants/eating-places hotels including food joints/courts in various malls falling within the jurisdiction of Chandigarh shall run only with 50% of their capacity and close by 10 pm. The last order for food can be accepted till 9 pm. Any breach of this order shall invite action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code. This order shall come into force with effect from 10:30 pm on April 7 and shall remain in force till further orders. In view of the emergent nature of the order it is being issued ex-parte and is addressed to the public in general.
