Traders body for opening of all shops on Punjab pattern

Tribune News ServiceChandigarh May 8The Chandigarh Beopar Mandal today appealed to the UT Administrator to allow all type of shops – essential and non-essential – to be kept open on the pattern of recent announcement made by the Punjab Government.
Mandal president Charanjiv Singh said traders should be allowed to open their shops from Monday onwards as Punjab has already done so.
Such lockdowns are making it difficult for the traders to pay their rents and meet other expenditures like salaries taxes electricity and water charges etc. Charanjiv Singh added.
Mandal chief spokesperson Diwakar Sahoonja said the government must ensure strict implementation of Covid guidelines in all shops offices and markets.
Charanjiv Singh said they would reassure the government that they would support all anti-Covid measures and also help in all types of relief efforts being undertaken by the government.
