Refund excess amount charged from Covid patients Chandigarh administration to private hospitals

An inspection committee from the UT Health Department has been deputed to conduct surprise inspections of all the private hospitals and nursing homes admitting Covid-19 patients to check if patients were being charged at rates notified by the Chandigarh Administration. Dr Charu Singla Nodal Officer UT said “A lot of private hospitals are overcharging patients. The private hospitals and nursing homes have been asked to charge for Remdesivir as per the rate decided by UT. The details of rates charged and facilities available are to be prominently displayed at a conspicuous place.

Dr Charu Singla Nodal Officer UT said “A lot of private hospitals are overcharging patients. We have asked them to refund the amount charged excessively.” The administration on Monday directed all private hospitals to ensure that when a team comes for inspection of the facility they should extend full cooperation and submit all the documents in respect to the case file pharmacy bills billing details and other bills that are generated. The private hospitals and nursing homes have been asked to charge for Remdesivir as per the rate decided by UT. The details of rates charged and facilities available are to be prominently displayed at a conspicuous place. UT has also sought compliance reports of the instructions to be reported to the Director of Health & Family Welfare.
