Covid vaccination in full swing in Mohali

Mohali June 11The vaccination drive against Covid-19 is going in full swing with the people getting inoculated at 55 government centres across the district Civil Surgeon Dr Adarshpal Kaur said here today. They also informed that 11 permanent and 44 temporary vaccination centers were active across the district. “The permanent vaccination centres are functional at Government College in front of Civil Hospital Mohali government hospitals at Dera Bassi Kharar Gharuan Kurali Boothgarh Dhakoli Banur and Lalru and at community centres in Phase 7 and Government Senior Secondary School near Civil Hospital Dera Bassi” said Dr Adarshpal Kaur. The Civil Surgeon also informed that temporary vaccination centres in the Dera Bassi block were set up at Basoli Pandawala Amalala Bhukhri Dappar Chhat and Bhabat. Dr Nagra said from June 21 the vaccine would be administered to all persons above the age of 18.

Dr Adarshpal and acting Immunisation Officer Dr Vikrant Nagra said at present there was “no shortage of anti-Covid vaccine” in the district and all the eligible beneficiaries should get themselves vaccinated. They also informed that 11 permanent and 44 temporary vaccination centers were active across the district. “The permanent vaccination centres are functional at Government College in front of Civil Hospital Mohali government hospitals at Dera Bassi Kharar Gharuan Kurali Boothgarh Dhakoli Banur and Lalru and at community centres in Phase 7 and Government Senior Secondary School near Civil Hospital Dera Bassi” said Dr Adarshpal Kaur. “Apart from these temporary vaccination centres have been set up at Urban Primary Health Centres in Phase 1 Phase 7 Phase 11 Mundi Kharar Nayagaon Baltana Preet Colony (Zirakpur) and Khizrabad; at ESI dispensary Phase 3; Civil Hospital Kharar (old training centre); and at Palheri Bahlolpur Chandon Barodi Chatoli Padiala Parol and Toga health centers in the Boothgarh health block” she said. The Civil Surgeon also informed that temporary vaccination centres in the Dera Bassi block were set up at Basoli Pandawala Amalala Bhukhri Dappar Chhat and Bhabat. In the Gharuan Block the centres are located at Batta Sakrullapur Badali Jangori Garanga Basian Sanota Jhanjeri Chadiala Bakarpur MachliKalan Nayagaon Manoli Dao Majra Dao Mataur Majat Landran and Mullanpur. Dr Nagra said: “At present 18 to 44 year age group registered industrial workers construction workers family members of healthcare workers and persons suffering from serious illnesses are being vaccinated.” The vaccine provided by the state government is being used to inoculate the group he said. Dr Nagra said from June 21 the vaccine would be administered to all persons above the age of 18.
