Chandigarh Administration has given permission to open the schools of class 7th and 8th from 9th August. However, whether the students will go to school or not will have to be decided by their parents. Students will be able to go to school only after the consent of the parents. Along with this, the facility of online education will also continue. Along with this, the Chandigarh administration has increased the opening time of restaurants and food shops from 8 am to 10.30 pm. These places will be opened with 50 percent capacity.

Earlier, on July 19, the government schools of Chandigarh were opened for classes from 9th to 12th and private schools were also opening slowly.

Cinema halls and spas were ordered to run with 50 percent capacity. The administration said that coaching institutes were also allowed to open from July 19, provided all eligible students and staff had taken at least one dose of the anti-Covid vaccine.

In social gatherings such as weddings, the number of guests was increased to 200 or 50 per cent of the banquet hall`s capacity, whichever is less. According to the order, all adult employees of hotels or banquet halls should get at least one dose of anti-Covid vaccine or they have negative report of RT-PCR test, which should not be more than 72 hours earlier.
