Malerkotla to be made 23rd district soon

They shared their Eid greetings with the community on behalf of the state government at the local Eidgah. Malerkota is currently a sub-division in the Sangrur district. Prophet Mohammed gave the message of peace, brotherhood and mutual co-existence to the world," said Manpreet, while exhorting the people to continue making efforts to ensure that the financially-deprived sections of the society were also included in the festivities.The finance minister announced Rs 1 crore on behalf of the Punjab government for the Eidgah and said, "In the Congress government's first budget, necessary facilities to the Muslim community, including Rs 3 crore for Urdu academy at Malerkotla, Rs 10 crore for graveyards in the state and benefits under various welfare schemes have been announced."Sidhu also announced another Rs 50 lakh for the Eidgah from his fund. He assured that the promise of establishing a government medical college at Malerkotla would also be fulfilled soon.The minister further said the Muslim community would be accorded due respect in the Congress government.Calling Eid a festival of mutual brotherhood and harmony, Navjot Singh Sidhu asked people to ensure peaceful coexistence and to serve humanity.The ministers were presented a painting by the members of the Eidgah committe on the occasion.
