Assam rifles martyr’s children claim state’s failure in providing help

He added that while government job is still a far cry, financial assistance of mere Rs 1.5 lakh has been provided so far. Shimla: Children of martyr Subedar B K Sharma of 29 Assam Rifles , who along with five other soldiers was killed by militants in Chandel district of Manipur on May 22 last year, on Tuesday accused the state government of not fulfilling their promise of providing financial assistance to the family.Addressing media persons in Shima on Tuesday, the martyr's son Vivek Sharma and daughter Priyanka Sharma from Bilaspur district alleged that social justice and empowerment minister Dhani Ram Shandil had promised to provide them with a government job for one of the family members and a compensation of Rs 5 lakh.
