SD SharmaChandigarh, July 5Yet another socially relevant play, “Poster”, in Hindi and Awadhi dialect was staged on the third day of the Sanskar Bharti’s Bharat Muni Natyotsav at Tagore theatre.
It brought into focus the harassment, exploitation and subjugation of poor labourers, including women and children, of a basti in a backward village by an influential contractor, Patel.
The poster was pasted at the workplace for creating awareness among the labourers, much to the annoyance of the contractor.
Chief guest Nalini Singhal, Regional Director, ICCR, and festival director Dr Saubhagya Vardhan blessed the artistes.
In a nexus with officials, Patel used to deny their labour and basic facilities besides forcing them to work on minimum wages.
