Man booked for raping 25-year-old sister-in-law

Ludhiana:The Jodhewal police on Wednesday booked a man for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman on the pretext of marriage. In 2015, when the accused and his brother came to her house, the accused allegedly raped her on the pretext of marriage. He has allegedly been raping her for the past two years.In her complaint to police, the woman alleged that the accused is brother-in-law of her sister. Both had friendly relations. Later, he refused to marry her.Further the woman has also alleged that the accused's brother, who is also husband of her sister, was also involved in this planning.ASI Harpreet Singh, investigating officer from Jodhewal police station, said following the complaint, the Jodhewal police booked two brothers under Sections 376 (rape), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.No arrest has been made in the case so far.
