These controversies have been quite similar to financial irregularities, sexual abuse and, sometimes, even murder. These godmen have created a stir and have been in headlines for all the bad reasons.

Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan
Dera Sacha Sauda head, Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim is called as Rockstar Baba. He has acted in many music videos, sung songs and posed in various modern outfits which nowhere resemble that of a Baba. He has been in news for allegedly molesting and raping his female followers and conspiring and murdering a journalist who went against Dera.
Sant Rampal Baba
This 63 years old engineer turned to a Baba is in possessions of a lot many luxuries than many of the big shots of India. He owns a fleet of luxury cars, lives in an ashram in Barwala, Haryana which is spread across 12 acres. Sant Rampal opened his first Satlok Ashram in 1999 thereafter which he had a number of followers. Hence, he began opening ashrams all over Haryana.
When the court issued orders for his arrest, he kept hiding behind thousands of followers including women and kids. Though, he was arrested by using various forces and a brigade of policemen. Upon raiding his Ashram in Rohtak it was revealed that many women were found trapped there, ladies toilets have cameras and had many used and unused condoms and other porn material & videos.
Asaram Bapu
He is without any doubts one of the most popular Baba of India. He was born in Sind and has been in headlines for his for his ‘good or great’ deeds in the name of almighty. He owns not one or two but over 425 ashrams and more than 50 Gurukuls. He was doped with many controversies he was accused of sexually abusing 16 years old girl in his Jodhpur Ashram. Police had also summoned his officials in his Ahmedabad ashram. Even though the court made its verdict clear, this godman claims to be innocent and regards her minor as his ‘daughter’.
Swami Nithyananda
Swami Nithyananda has emerged as a big name and has been one of the most spiritually influential living people in the world as named by Mind Body Spirit Magazine. Well known for his spiritual discourses and meditation programs. He is the author of more than 300 books and they are published in 27 languages. His YouTube channel The God Possess is also one of the most watched teachers on YouTube.
His controversies rose after a video was aired with an actress in compromising position with baba. Though he said the video was morphed he did not deny his images with actress Ranjita.

He is one of the most controversial spiritual leaders in India. he was also nicknamed as ‘sex- guru’. His communes in Oregon and England accepted contraception, sterilization, and abortion. Many Bollywood personalities like Parveen Babi, Mahesh Bhatt and Vinod Khanna also became his disciple. He was charged with immigration violations and deported and his sannyasins had allegations of drug use.
Satya Sai Baba
He gained popularity not only in India but across 126 countries. Regarded as God himself, Satya Sai died in 2011. He gained many controversies both in India and internationally. The allegations say that Baba was indulged in sexual abuse and pedophilia.
Radhey Maa
If you thought in the lands of gods we could miss goddess, you’re wrong. Radhe Maa with her glittering attire and jewelry lured the crowd with her unusual acts. But soon it came up that she possesses no power. She often portrayed a sexy image and indulged in vulgar and obscene activities with her followers.
One thing can be concluded common among all these Baba’ that they crave for money, assets and have to face sexual assault and rape charges etc.
