SCHOOL NOTESChandigarh: St Xavier’s International School, Zirakpur, organised an art, splash and dance quest. Navshree of Class I and Chaitanya Kothari of Class IV won a silver medal in the championship. Khushi, Anita, Simmi, Nisha and Deepak won gold medals. Aanshika, Adit Goyal and Aadit of Class IV stood first, second and third in the Under the Sea category, respectively. Tarushi Gaur of Class III bagged two gold and a silver Medal.

SCHOOL NOTES Chandigarh: St Xavier’s International School, Zirakpur, organised an art, splash and dance quest. The competition was held in three categories-Under the Sea for Class IV, Peace for Class V and Save the Girld Child for Class VI. Aanshika, Adit Goyal and Aadit of Class IV stood first, second and third in the Under the Sea category, respectively. Sejal Verma, Prachi Negi and Baibhavi stood first, second and third in the Peace category. Gauri and Khushboo Khanna of Class VI won in the Save the Girl Child category. Principal George S Shear congratulated the students and appreciated their efforts. Sqay competition Students of The British School, Panchkula, brought laurels in 10th Cadet, Sub-junior and 9th Junior and Senior Haryana State Sqay Cup, held at St Teresa School, Sector 25, Panchkula, from September 8 to 10. Navshree of Class I and Chaitanya Kothari of Class IV won a silver medal in the championship. Tarushi Gaur of Class III bagged two gold and a silver Medal. Tejasvi Dubey of Class V bagged a gold medal. Tiya Brar, Saksham Arora and Sahibjeet Singh of Class V won the bronze Medal whereas Agastya Raj Chandel grabbed a silver. Twin sisters- Adanne Bhat and Amodini Bhat-showcased their talent in the championship. Adanne won a gold and a bronze while Amodini bagged the silver. Charvi Jain, a Class X student, won a gold. Cleanliness stressed With the aim to create awareness about the need for cleanliness, teachers delivered a lecture and explained, with the help of a model, rainwater harvesting at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 39, Chandigarh. The students were told as how to collect and store rainwater in the natural reservoir or water tanks. GMHS students shine Students of Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 38-D, Chandigarh, bagged all three positions in the Chandigarh Inter-School State Taekwondo Tournament at Ryan International School, Sector 49, Chandigarh. Khushi, Anita, Simmi, Nisha and Deepak won gold medals. Kunal and Mehak bagged the silver. Rohan and Nidhi stood third and won the bronze. Deliberating on safer roads Mohali: An inter-school declamation contest was organised by the Health Awareness and Suvidha Society (HASS) with the support of AkzoNobel and the traffic education cell, Mohali, under the project, Mission Salamati, at Mount Carmel School, Mohali, wherein students of different schools of the tricity participated and presented their views on how our roads can be made safer. Students shared as to how youngsters could contribute to make the roads safer. Neha Singh of Class X stood third in the competition and made the school proud. TNS
