BRIEFLY : SPORTSChandigarh: Lovepreet Singh has won a gold medal at the Junior Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship held in Gold Coast, Australia. The national championship is scheduled to be held at the Army Sports Complex, Shillong, from October 10 to 15. Lovepreet, who is a part of the Chandigarh Amateur Weightlifting Association, lifted a total of 325 kg (150kg snatch + 175kg clean & jerk) to finish at the top. — TNSChandigarh: The Wushu Association of Chandigarh will orgnaise trials to select men’s and women’s teams for 26th Senior National Wushu Championship at the Panjab University Gymnasium Hall on September 16. — TNSChandigarh: The Sunrise Tennis Academy will organise the STA-AITA Talent Series (TS-7) Tennis Tournament from September 23.

The qualifying matches for the event will be played on September 23 and 24, while the main draw matches will begin from September 25. — TNS Param Jeet felicitated Chandigarh: Param Jeet Singh, sports teacher at Government Girls Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 20, was on Wednesday presented the Nation Builder Award 2017 by the Rotary Club of Chandigarh (Midtown) for his contribution to the sports. — TNS
