Ozone Day: Chennai schools go plastic-free

CHENNAI: Students of Dhaya International School at Velachery on Sunday decided to avoid using water bottles, lunch boxes and carry bags made of plastics The students, their parents and teachers participated in a walkathon at Velachery on the occasion of the World Ozone Day to create awareness about the ill-effects of plastics and the importance of protecting the ozone layer.TANSI Nagar Welfare Association secretary Balakrishnan flagged off the walkathon.
