Handbags containing money snatched in Trichy

TRICHY: A couple of robbery incidents targeting women on two-wheelers took place near Cantonment here on Sunday evening.The first incident took place near Ayyappan temple on the Lawsons road around 6 pm. J Arockia Vinnarasi, 32, of Vallam in Thanjavur district was riding on her two-wheeler near the head post office around 7 pm on Sunday. Two men on a two-wheeler followed her, and the pillion rider snatched her handbag in which Rs 2,200 in cash was kept. The man on the pillion snatched the handbag from Kannamma and fled the scene.Sarumathi lodged a complaint with the sessions court police alleging that the bag containing Rs 5,000 in cash and an ID card was snatched from her. The duo fled the scene.The Cantonment police registered a case.The Police suspect that same men were involved in both the robberies

A Sarumathi, 30, of Thuvakkudimalai was riding on her two-wheeler. Her mother Kannamma was riding pillion on it.A couple of men on another two-wheeler followed them and hit their scooter.Sarumathi and her mother fell off the two-wheeler and suffered injuries. The man on the pillion snatched the handbag from Kannamma and fled the scene.Sarumathi lodged a complaint with the sessions court police alleging that the bag containing Rs 5,000 in cash and an ID card was snatched from her. The police registered a case.Another incident occurred in the close vicinity. J Arockia Vinnarasi, 32, of Vallam in Thanjavur district was riding on her two-wheeler near the head post office around 7 pm on Sunday.
