Express and deluxe services, which include route number 99 (from Gandhi Nagar to West Tambaram); route number 588 (from Gandhi Nagar to Mamallapuram); and route number 109 (from Broadway to Kovalam), bypass this stopover. Commuters say the aforementioned express and deluxe route numbers are not operated as ordinary (white board) services; and therefore, they don’t halt here. This puts the commuters to a lot of inconvenience. As a result, some commuters walk up to the Kapaleeshwar Nagar stopover, which is nearly 2 km away. Some go in for a share-autorickshaw to get to this stopover, where all bus services halt. Residents of the following localities in Neelankarai — Kathiravan Salai, Raja Nagar, Blue Beach Road, and Teachers’ Colony — depend on this Blue Lagoon Beach Resort stopover. When contacted, an MTC official promised to do the needful.
