CHENNAI: Damaged roads, absence of proper street lights, sewage overflowing from open drains, unusable pavements, and perennial stench from garbage — there are problems galore in localities of Perambur around Stephenson Road where an accident claimed a life on Saturday. Residents of the areas are always at war with the civic body alleging lack of apathy towards their concern.Through the day, Stephenson Road remains full of dust due to movement of heavy vehicles and in the night, the lack of street lights makes it unsafe for motorists.“The accident was not the first one to happen.
