CHENNAI: The Madras high court on Friday turned down a request made by a right wing organisation to permit it to show black flags to Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan -- during his visit to Chennai -- in connection with the Sabarimala row Arjun Sampath of the Hindu Makkal Katchi wanted to stage a protest condemning Kerala government's actions to implement the Supreme Court order permitting women to visit the temple and the restrictions imposed by the government on temple premises.Vijajan is to visit Chennai to participate in a function organised by the DMK to unveil the statue of former Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi at the party's headquarters -- Anna Arivalayam -- on December 16.During Vijayan's visit, the outfit wanted the court to permit them to stage a protest by showing black flags near the Chennai airport and near Arivalayam.As the Chennai police commissioner had rejected his application seeking permission for the protest, Sampath approached the court.When the plea came up for hearing, the city police opposed the plea contending that the proposed protest was against the order of the Supreme Court and permitting the same would create law and order problem.Recording the submission, Justice Puspha Sathyanarayana dismissed the plea.
