He was also a close aide of gangster Chinna and revealed plans to eliminate Chinna’s rival ‘Arcot’ Suresh to avenge the former’s murder. The arrest of the four by the Pulianthope police helped thwart the murder attempt, an officer said.“Saravanan told police that he was returning from the birthday party of Kumar, which many other goons had attended. The party was wrapped up early after they learned that police planned to round them up and the goons were on their way to their hideouts,” an investigating officer said.Based on their confession, police later arrested more suspects — Srinivasan, Dawood and Rajesh of Madhavaram and three others for plotting the murder of Suresh. They will be remanded in prison on Monday.
