This year, we decided to focus on rescued bonded labourers and what freedom means to them. CHENNAI: Twenty bonded labourers , who were rescued a few years ago, now feature in a 2019 calendar showcasing their life after bondage.The calendar with the theme, “I am free 2019”, has been brought out by The International Justice Mission , a non-government organisation. Their hunger or my work?” she was quoted as saying in the calendar.Jousha Joel Prakash and his team went to several parts of Kancheepuram district to photograph the rescued bonded labourers. “I am free to be joyful,” said Kalpana who was rescued from a woodcutting unit in 2014. She was the third generation of her family under bondage in an agriculture unit near Cheyyar in Tiruvannamalai district, until being rescued on May 7, 2018.
