PUDUCHERRY: Puducherry chief minister V Narayanasamy , his cabinet colleagues, legislators of Congress and DMK, leaders of Congress alliance partners continued their agitation in front of Raj Nivas for the third day on Friday against lieutenant governor Kiran Bedi accusing her of stalling the welfare schemes of the Congress government. The protesting leaders, led by Narayanasamy, spent the whole night on Thursday on the road.Narayanasamy, who had written to lieutenant governor insisting her to fulfil a 39-charter of demands, said Bedi could resolve all issues within an hour but not willing to do so. When asked on the rationale to continue the stir in her absence in the territory, he said if she conveyed her decision to fulfil all the demands through a letter or over the phone, he would reconsider his decision to continue the agitation.Narayanasamy took to Twitter to slam Bedi for behaving like a 'queen of Puducherry'. “I always need to remind you that India is a democratic country. Please do not behave as a queen of Puducherry. Respect democracy,” he tweeted. He also came down heavily on Bedi leaving Puducherry when the territory is in turmoil. “When Puducherry is burning, you (Bedi) immediately left on tour which are not remotely concerned with welfare of Puducherry. Does the taxpayers should fit your travels?” he asked. The chief minister questioned the necessity of calling the Rapid Action Force (RAF) when he has launched a peaceful protest against Bedi. “What was the need for calling 400 RAF personnel when we were sitting on a peaceful dharna. That too for attending private function for your self-promotion & publicity stunts?”“But we are still serving food for your RAF guests. Your attempt to instil fear psychosis will never succeed. We are Puducherrians,” he added.Meanwhile, AICC secretary and party’s in-charge of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu, Sanjay Dutt called on Narayanasamy and other protesting leaders and expressed solidarity to the ongoing stir against Bedi.“We solidly stand with People of #Puducherry & support @CMPuducherry @VNarayanasamy Ji & @INCPuducherry in their Gandhian dharna struggle to protest against LG @thekiranbedi for bypassing elected govt, acting agnst constitution & stalling development & welfare schemes,” Dutt tweeted on Friday.
