MADURAI: The Madurai police are investigating the identity of a man who impregnated a minor girl here after luring her by promise to marry her.The victim was a 16-year-old Class X dropout, police said. A case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and further investigations were on. Her parents had been unaware of her pregnancy until a few weeks ago.Her parents took the eight months pregnant girl to Government Rajaji Hospital on February 3, after she developed serious health complications.The girl gave birth to a baby boy on February 10.The family members preferred a complaint with the Sedapatti police on Thursday.
