Tamil Nadu: Amit Shah to visit Madurai on Feb 22

CHENNAI: BJP national president Amit Shah will visit Madurai on February 22 and address Shakti Kendra Sammelan . The leader held talks with senior functionaries on the party’s strength in constituencies and probable aspirants in Chennai. So winnability is the sole criteria that will guide the number of seats,” Rao said, adding that the grand alliance of BJP would be in the interest of people of Tamil Nadu. “We want to expedite and accelerate everything so that the campaign can be driven in a very effective way,” BJP general secretary (Tamil Nadu incharge) Muralidhar Rao told reporters. He said the party will have a coalition that would be broad-based and inclusive and there will be a joint declaration of alliance partners shortly.Rao’s visit comes a day after Union minister Piyush Goyal held talks with the AIADMK leadership on poll deal. “The aim is how to win maximum seats for NDA. So winnability is the sole criteria that will guide the number of seats,” Rao said, adding that the grand alliance of BJP would be in the interest of people of Tamil Nadu.
