4 metro stations get E-scooter rental services

CHENNAI: An electronic chipset enabled electric scooter will now be available at four metro stations here for commuters to ride to neighbourhoods. Vogo Automotive Limited, a scooter rental company, has launched its services in the city in partnership with Chennai Metro Rail Limited ( CMRL ).E-scooters will be available at four stations -- Guindy, Alandur, Vadapalani and Anna Nagar Tower -- on a trial basis. Vogo was started to meet that requirement,” said company chief operating officer Padmanabhan Balakrishnan.As of now, the services will be available from 6am to 10pm. It will be later extended to other stations. The rides are available for Rs 1.20 per minute.“Having lived in this city for 30 years, I know the difficulty in finding a mode of commute from stations to the destination.

To use this facility, commuters will have to download a Vogo app, attach their driving licence photo and key in a one-time password they receive on their smartphones to a key box attached to the vehicle to start the ride.
