Later he convened a meeting of leaders of alliance partners at the legislative assembly. The meeting between Bedi and Narayanasamy was held to discuss the 39 issues raised by the chief minister in his February 7 letter. On Wednesday, the chief minister, accusing Bedi of interfering in the day-to-day affairs of his administration, launched a sit-in dharna in front of Raj Nivas with his cabinet colleagues, MLAs from the Congress and the DMK and leaders of alliance partners.Narayanasamy has been demanding among other things re-delegation of financial powers to secretaries, heads of the departments and council of ministers as per the Union home ministry order.Earlier on Monday, Bedi invited Narayanasamy and his cabinet colleagues for the meeting after he withdrew the conditions laid earlier. However, the chief minister insisted on the presence of the chief secretary, all secretaries concerned and heads of the departments in the meeting to ensure that all ‘public issues’ are resolved on time and on the spot. He sent a letter to Bedi conveying his decision on Sunday night. On Bedi’s comment that she had called for a discussion to clear his doubts, Narayanasamy said he did not have any doubts on the issues he raised, “I want to resolve the issues amicably for the welfare of the people… The issues mentioned in the letter are not political and purely administrative in nature. But it seems that you want to have a new political mileage from these issues,” he said.
