All schools have been told to wind up the academic year before April 13 so that there is no interference with Lok Sabha elections. TN goes to the polls on April 18.VC Rameswaramurugan, director of the state school education department, had sent a letter to all the chief educational officers (CEOs) in connection with this on Thursday. CEOs have been told to discuss with individual government and aided school headmasters and ensure that every school has worked for the minimum number of days prescribed by the government. Usually schools should work for 210 to 225 days a year. But this year many classes were lost due to Cyclone Gaja, teachers' strike (Jactto-Geo) and extended festive weekends.
