Chennai: Man found dead in girlfriend’s house

CHENNAI: A 27-year-old driver was found dead in his lover’s house in Pallikaranai on Saturday night.The deceased was identified as Karthik. When she turned his body, Karthik was frothing in the mouth. She initially thought Karthik was inside as he had a spare key, but found him lying motionless on the ground. “She did not raise any suspicion as he avoided taking calls while driving,” said an investigating officer.“We are awaiting for the postmortem report. The 27-year-old was a resident of Valluvar Nagar Sithalapakkam .

CHENNAI: A 27-year-old driver was found dead in his lover’s house in Pallikaranai on Saturday night.The deceased was identified as Karthik. The 27-year-old was a resident of Valluvar Nagar Sithalapakkam . He was in love with Rajeshwari, 24, of Ulunthurpet. She worked in a bank in Taramani and lived in a rented accommodation at Ezhil Nagar, Perumbakkam.Karthik often visited her and had helped her in getting the house which belonged to one of his relatives. They had agreed to pay a rent of Rs 2,500.The woman lived in that house two days in a week while the rest of the days she stayed with her friends.On Saturday, when she went home, she found the doors open. She initially thought Karthik was inside as he had a spare key, but found him lying motionless on the ground. When she turned his body, Karthik was frothing in the mouth. Blood was splattered all over his body, but there were no injury marks.She immediately informed the police, who sent the body for a postmortem to Government Chrompet hospital. Police found bruises on the hip, hands and legs.Pallikaranai police registered a case under CrPC 174. They ruled out murder. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide. Rajeshwari had tried reaching him on Friday and Saturday over phone but there was no response.Police quoted doctors saying that Karthik might have died two days back. “She did not raise any suspicion as he avoided taking calls while driving,” said an investigating officer.“We are awaiting for the postmortem report. It’s not a case of natural death,” said the officer said.
