With Nadigar Sangam elections around the corner (June 23), the two contesting teams Pandavar Ani headed by Nasser, Vishal and Karthi and Sankaradas Ani with Bhagyaraj and Isari Ganesh helming it are gearing up with their promo campaign to garner the votes of 3,166 members of the sangam. Under the circumstances, a campaign video unveiled by Pandavar Ani and uploaded on Vishal's YouTube channel - Vishal Film Factory - has shocked Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who has come down heavily on Vishal on her twitter account. Varalaxmi, who had earlier shared a close friendship with Vishal, was miffed that her dad Sarathkumar (who's staying away from the current election politics) was dragged into the poll affair with allegations from the past aired about him when he was with the Sangam and which are yet to be proved. Clippings from his speech in support of the Radha Ravi group in the last elections were aired in the video. Vishal and Sarathkumar had an unpleasant relationship in the past. The Sandakozhi actor and his team had alleged that Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi had mismanaged Nadigar Sangam’s funds and its functions. Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi were removed from the primary membership of Nadigar Sangam and cannot cast their votes in the forthcoming SIAA elections. Varu shared a statement on her social media handle saying that Vishal has resorted to cheap measures and that she had lost all respect for him. She said Vishal is a true actor at least off screen and he has lost her vote. I have nothing to say. If you are so proud of what you have done why don't you showcase that instead of bringing down my dad when he's not even involved this time. so many people can't be wrong about you .. all this time I respected you and I have been there for you as friend always. Now you have taken it too far..it's so sad instead of making a positive video about the things you have achieved you resorted to the lowest form of campaigning.
