Meet Ravi Amma, the transgender priestess who broke social barriers to achieve gender inclusivity

Speaking to Express, 38-year-old Ravi Amma recalls her journey.
Ravi Amma had taken it upon herself to help the temple priest make arrangements for the ritual.
Except for selective unpleasant incidents, she tells us she has never felt different being a transgender priestess in a conservative society.
Despite the recurring incidence of violence against the transgender community, Ravi Amma believes transgenders are gradually being accepted in society.
It is the rules set by people and people alone," says Ravi Amma.
