Covid-19 update: Coimbatore reported 220 new cases on Sunday

The district has 1491 active cases while 1929 people have recovered from the disease. 39 people have succumbed to the virus.

Coimbatore district reported 220 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, taking the total number of positive cases to 3459.

The district has 1491 active cases while 1929 people have recovered from the disease. 39 people have succumbed to the virus.

The district saw an average of 60 cases from July 4 to July 11. From July 12 to July 22, the district has seen an average of 125 cases. But the spike in cases is even higher now with 229 being the district’s average number of cases from July 23 to July 26.

In a bid to curb the rise of Covid-19 cases, as per Coimbatore district collector K Rajamani’s announcement, a complete lockdown was observed in the city from 5 pm on July 25 till 6 am on July 27.
