TN BJP chief and five others booked for violating Covid-19 norms during PM Modi B’Day celebration

Prime minister Narendra Modi turned 70 on September 17 and tweeted that what he wants on his birthday is for people to follow Covid precautions like wearing face masks and following social distancing.

Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief L Murugan and five others are booked for violating Covid-19 norms in Chennai on the occasion of Prime Minister`s Narendra`s Modi`s birthday.

Mambalam police have booked BJP state president Murugan and 5 other office bearers for taking chariot ride during PM Modi`s birthday celebration and causing inconvenience to the public.

All have been booked under Section 143 and 188.

Besides, three others were booked for erecting illegal banners.
