As of Wednesday, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu is 46,263. Till date, 3,60,729 males, 2,36,842 females and 31 transgenders have tested positive for the virus in the state.
Tamil Nadu reported 5659 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the state’s overall infection tally to 5,97,602. Among these, Chennai reported 1295 positive cases, bringing the city’s total to 1,67,376.
Tamil Nadu also recorded 67 deaths on Wednesday, putting the state toll at 9520. 62 of them had succumbed due to comorbidities.
As of Wednesday, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu is 46,263. Till date, 3,60,729 males, 2,36,842 females and 31 transgenders have tested positive for the virus in the state.
According to a bulletin released by the Health and Family Welfare Department of Tamil Nadu, 73,64,050 samples from the state have been sent for testing till date, with 86,938 samples having been sent yesterday.
The state discharged 5610 patients following treatment Wednesday, putting the total number of recoveries at 5,41,819.
