Palaniswami on Wednesday made the announcement of the 11-member steering committee while Panneerselvam made the announcement of EPS being the CM face.

The incumbent AIADMK has announced to proceed to the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections with the face of sitting Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

E Palaniswami or "EPS" will be AIADMK’s Chief Ministerial candidate for 2021 Tamil Nadu elections, this decision came after months of infighting amidst the party for the Chief ministerial candidature post between the EPS and Deputy CM O. Panneerselvam.

The announcement was made by Panneerselvam himself, looks like party’s attempt to convey the message that all the fractions in the party are together.

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and other AIADMK leaders arrived at the party office in Chennai, for a meeting over 2021 assembly elections in the state on Wednesday.

Edappadi K Palaniswami also announced an 11-member steering committee for the 2021 Tamil Nadu elections. Six of the 11 members are from the OPS camp which is being seen as a bid to placate O Panneerselvam who had been eyeing the CM chair for long.

Palaniswami on Wednesday made the announcement of the 11-member steering committee while Panneerselvam made the announcement of EPS being the CM face.

Talks reportedly went on till 3.30 am this morning, in the hours leading up to the announcement that delivers, for now, a delicate balance of power between EPS and OPS.
