Covid-19 update: Tamil Nadu reported 4,897 new cases on Monday

As of Monday, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu is 43,747. Till date, 3,99,382 males, 2,61,850 females and 32 transgenders have tested positive for the virus in the state.

Tamil Nadu reported 4,897 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, taking the state’s overall infection tally to 6,61,264. Among these, Chennai recorded 1212 cases, taking the city’s tally to 1,83,251.

The state also reported 62 virus related deaths, pushing the death toll to 10,314. 56 of them had succumbed due to comorbidities.

As of Monday, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu is 43,747. Till date, 3,99,382 males, 2,61,850 females and 32 transgenders have tested positive for the virus in the state.

The state discharged 5165 patients following treatment, putting the total number of recoveries at 6,07,203.

According to a bulletin released by the Health and Family Welfare Department of Tamil Nadu, 84,02,994 samples from the state have been sent for testing till date, with 80,162 samples having been sent yesterday.
