Chennai: Alangulam MLA DMK senior leader and former Minister Poongothai Aladi Aruna has refuted reports that she had attempted suicide due to intra-party rivalry.
Stating that the party high command was treating her well she added that the DMK had given an identity to her father (late Minister Aladi Aruna) and then to her.
According to Poongothai former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had made her the Minister for Social Welfare and Nutritious Noon Meal Scheme and later the Minister for Information Technology.
She said party president M K Stalin had appointed her as the head of the doctors' wing.
Meanwhile DMK organising secretary RS Bharathi said that an inquiry would be conducted into the alleged suicide attempt of Aladi Aruna after she recovers.
