Covid 19 cases on the rise in Chennai News Today

Chennai: Though not alarming the number of fresh cases is on the rise in Chennai. According to data from Greater Chennai Corporation this morning the tally of total positive cases was 3749 which is at two per cent. Since the lockdown Chennai has recorded 215360 cases of Covid-19 of which 207761 have recovered over the months. Currently 416 persons have contracted the virus in Adyar and 379 have tested positive in Anna Nagar. Places such as Manali have the least number of cases at 57 and Shollinganallur has 90 positive cases.

Chennai: Though not alarming the number of fresh cases is on the rise in Chennai. The Health department has earmarked containment zones and has decided not to allow relaxations here. According to data from Greater Chennai Corporation this morning the tally of total positive cases was 3749 which is at two per cent. Since the lockdown Chennai has recorded 215360 cases of Covid-19 of which 207761 have recovered over the months. The recovery rate in the city is at 96 per cent. The most number of recoveries took place at Anna Nagar with 22903 persons overcoming covid. On 30 November nearly 10123 persons were tested by the Health department. It is reported that nearly 3850 persons have died due to the viral infection. As per records 490 persons died in Teynampet 433 casualties were reported in Anna Nagar and 425 deaths were recorded in Kodambakkam. Currently 416 persons have contracted the virus in Adyar and 379 have tested positive in Anna Nagar. Places such as Manali have the least number of cases at 57 and Shollinganallur has 90 positive cases. Nearly 59.97 per cent of those affected with Covid are male and 40.03 per cent are female. The viral infection has most affected people in the age group of 50-59 with 18.18 per cent belonging to this section.
