As Corona figures come down hospital beds vacant in Chennai News Today

As a huge relief over 70 per cent beds in hospitals across the city are vacant. It is reported that about 71.5 per cent beds in government hospitals and 77 per cent beds in private hospitals were vacant . This morning the Chennai Corporation said that the city was at 97 per cent recovery rate and has two per cent active cases Chennai city has a 1.78 per cent mortality rate. According to data put out by the Chennai Corporation this morning the tally of total positive cases was 3584. Places such as Manali have the least number of cases at 60 and Shollinganallur has 94 positive cases.

Chennai: The city has had high recovery rate from Coronavirus. If this is any confirmation that the spread has slowed down even more comforting is the latest report from the Health department. It is reported that about 71.5 per cent beds in government hospitals and 77 per cent beds in private hospitals were vacant . This morning the Chennai Corporation said that the city was at 97 per cent recovery rate and has two per cent active cases Chennai city has a 1.78 per cent mortality rate. Chennai also has a high discharge rate with close to 22985 recoveries taking place at Anna Nagar. According to data put out by the Chennai Corporation this morning the tally of total positive cases was 3584. Since the lockdown Chennai has recorded 216119 cases of Covid-19 of which 208678 have recovered over the months. On 2 December nearly 10273 persons were tested by the Health department. It is reported that nearly 3857 persons have died due to the viral infection. As per records 492 persons died in Teynampet 433 casualties were reported in Anna Nagar and 426 deaths were recorded in Kodambakkam. Currently 406 persons have contracted the virus in Adyar and 370 have tested positive in Anna Nagar. Places such as Manali have the least number of cases at 60 and Shollinganallur has 94 positive cases. Nearly 60.95 per cent of those affected with Covid are male and 39.05 per cent are female. The viral infection has most affected people in the age group of 50-59 with 18.71 per cent belonging to this age group.
