Uber s journey planning feature now in Chennai amidst recovery News Today

Chennai: Uber recently launched its 'Public Transport' journey planning feature in Chennai which will allow riders in the city the option to plan their transit journey with service information and end-to-end directions all within the Uber app. According to the company Uber riders in Chennai will be able to view 'Public Transport' as an option along with other familiar modes like UberGo Premier Uber Auto in their Uber app. Prabhjeet Singh president Uber India and South Asia said “This enables efficient commute options saves riders time and money improves the city's productivity and helps build smarter and more sustainable cities”. As a part of the expansion of this partnership riders on Uber's platform who now pay through Amazon Pay will be eligible for a cashback up to 50 per cent for every ride. Mahendra Nerurkar CEO Amazon Pay said 'Driven by customers' need for hygienic socially distant and secure payments transactions for everyday needs we have witnessed multifold growth in adoption of contactless payments last year'.

Prabhjeet Singh president Uber India and South Asia said “This enables efficient commute options saves riders time and money improves the citys productivity and helps build smarter and more sustainable cities”. The company also announced a partnership with Amazon Pay for installing plastic screens in 40000 Uber Autos for enhancing the safety of riders and drivers across seven Indian cities: Delhi Mumbai Bengaluru Hyderabad Chennai Pune and Jaipur. As a part of the expansion of this partnership riders on Ubers platform who now pay through Amazon Pay will be eligible for a cashback up to 50 per cent for every ride. Meanwhile Uber announced that its mobility business in India was showing strong signs of recovery on the back of increasing rider demand for low cost products Auto and Moto. A press release said Uber Autos recovery across India in terms of gross bookings has now exceeded pre-Covid levels with Mumbai Delhi Hyderabad Chennai Mysore Bhubaneswar Jaipur Nagpur Indore Nashik and Kochi showcasing the strongest growth.
