Chennai: The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) which is conducting seat sharing talks with its alliance partners is learnt to have offered 24 Assembly seats to the Congress. The DMK camp is abuzz with activity as the party began the process of candidate selection for the assembly polls. A similar process of candidate selection for the Congress will be held on 6 and 7 March said TNCC president KS Alagiri. On the other hand the AIADMK is likely to announce the outcome of its seat sharing talks with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tomorrow. It may be noted that Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah had visited Tamilnadu early this week and took part in seat sharing discussions with CM Edappadi and others.

While initially it was rumoured that the party was looking to give 18 seats to the Congress latest reports have claimed that the tally has gone up to 24. Thol Thirumavalavan-led VCK party has bagged four seats as per the first round of negotiations. Meanwhile talks with CPI (M) got underway at Anna Arivalayam this morning. The DMK camp is abuzz with activity as the party began the process of candidate selection for the assembly polls. Sources said senior leaders including MK Stalin Duraimurugan and TR Baalu are conducting the interviews with the poll aspirants. A similar process of candidate selection for the Congress will be held on 6 and 7 March said TNCC president KS Alagiri. On the other hand the AIADMK is likely to announce the outcome of its seat sharing talks with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tomorrow. Sources said the ruling party might allot 25-30 seats. It may be noted that Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah had visited Tamilnadu early this week and took part in seat sharing discussions with CM Edappadi and others. The AIADMK had already allotted 23 seats to its ally Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK).
