Three member committee to run Anna University News Today

Chennai: As the tenure of Vice-Chancellor M K Surappa's tenure ended on 11 April the government has formed a three-member convener committee to oversee the day-to-day affairs of Anna University. An official release said the committee will conduct the affairs of the University until the next V-C assumes charge. It may be noted that a three member Vice-Chancellor search committee comprising of JNU Vice-Chancellor M Jagadish Kumar Madras University former Vice-Chancellor S P Thyagarajan and former IAS officer Sheela Ranu Chungath was formed recently to select the new Vice-Chancellor to Anna University. As per practice the nodal officer of the search committee will give advertisements inviting applications. After that the committee will shortlist ten candidates and conduct an interview before recommending three names to the Governor.

The committee comprises Higher Education Secretary Apoorva who will be the convener Additional Chief Secretary to the Government Hans Raj Verma who holds full additional charge of the Information and Technology Department and syndicate member and Chairperson of the Information and Communication Engineering Department at the University Ranjani Parthasarathi. An official release said the committee will conduct the affairs of the University until the next V-C assumes charge. It may be noted that a three member Vice-Chancellor search committee comprising of JNU Vice-Chancellor M Jagadish Kumar Madras University former Vice-Chancellor S P Thyagarajan and former IAS officer Sheela Ranu Chungath was formed recently to select the new Vice-Chancellor to Anna University.
