In a shocking incident of chain snatching in the Zamin Pallavaram area of Chennai on Friday, a chain snatcher dragged an 8-month pregnant woman on the road while trying to snatch a gold chain from her neck in which the woman was badly injured. The incident took place on Friday and in front of the woman`s house. CCTV footage of this entire incident is going viral on social media and people are fiercely cursing the government on the issue of law and order.
Geetha (24), who is eight months pregnant, was offering pooja to a Vinayagar shrine near her house around 7:30 am when two men stopped a few meters ahead. One of them got off the two-wheeler they were riding, approached Geetha, and attempted to snatch her gold chain. As she resisted, the assailant dragged her on the road.

The neighbours rushed to the spot after Geeta screamed for help but both the crooks managed to escape with a gold chain. Geeta suffered injuries to her legs and arms and was admitted to a private hospital.
The Police woke up only after the CCTV footage of this entire case went viral and filed an FIR in the case. The police have arrested one criminal and the search for another is going on.
