Chennai: Some private hospitals in Tamilnadu have reportedly alleged that they are facing shortage of Covid-19 vaccine. However Health department officials have denied the claim. A senior official said “We provide vaccines to those hospitals who have a better track record in inoculating people.”Meanwhile Tamilnadu Health Secretary Dr J Radhakrishnan is putting his hopes on the Sputnik vaccine from Russia. “It is learnt that the Sputnik vaccine has 90 per cent efficacy and this will give a boost to the vaccination drive” he told reporters. “The Covid-19 situation is being monitored by a core committee.
