Chennai: The Tamilnadu government informed the Madras High Court on Thursday that oxygen reserves in the State are adequate only for two days. It further directed the authorities to facilitate setting up of Oxygen plants in Chennai Coimbatore Madurai etc. like DRDO did at AIIMS and RML on short notice and at affordable costs. The High Court urged the authorities to ensure that Oxygen supplies to hospitals remain uninterrupted. “Please do whatever is within your power to see that somehow oxygen supply is augmented” the Chief Justice told the Centre.

Chennai: The Tamilnadu government informed the Madras High Court on Thursday that oxygen reserves in the State are adequate only for two days. Following this the High Court ordered that the Centre should take immediate steps to ensure adequate supply of oxygen to Tamilnadu so that the reserves in the State do not run out by Saturday “It is critical and requires the attention of the highest offices so that lives are not lost for want of oxygen” the court observed. It further directed the authorities to facilitate setting up of Oxygen plants in Chennai Coimbatore Madurai etc. like DRDO did at AIIMS and RML on short notice and at affordable costs. The High Court urged the authorities to ensure that Oxygen supplies to hospitals remain uninterrupted. “Please do whatever is within your power to see that somehow oxygen supply is augmented” the Chief Justice told the Centre.
