During this time all the religious spots in Tamilnadu will remain shut and nobody will be allowed to enter. Tamilnadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (TASMAC) liquor outlets will remain shut. Distribution of groceries meat and fish via e-commerce allowed till noon.

Chennai: The Tamilnadu government today imposed a complete lockdown (with few relaxations) for two weeks across the State between 4 am on 10 May and 4 am on 24 May to combat the spread of Covid-19. According to a press release from the Chief Ministers Office in order to help people prepare for the lockdown all shops and establishments are being allowed to stay open from 6 am to 9 pm today and tomorrow. As per the new lockdown rules e-commerce except Dunzo Swiggy and Zomato will not be permitted to function. Chief Minister MK Stalin said in a statement that the lockdown is being enforced because of unavoidable reasons. The decision was taken after a review meeting with district Collectors and medical experts. During this time all the religious spots in Tamilnadu will remain shut and nobody will be allowed to enter. But regular poojas will take place. All schools universities and training institutes will remain closed. No cabs or auto rickshaws will be allowed on roads. Only hospital or wedding/funeral work will be allowed. Tamilnadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (TASMAC) liquor outlets will remain shut. All kinds of events including social political sports or cultural will be prohibited. International air travel will continue to be prohibited. E-registration will continue to be implemented to monitor those coming from abroad and other States via air and train. Inter and intra-district public and private transport rental taxis autos will be disallowed. People carrying documents to prove their travel for marriages deaths/job interviews and hospitals will be allowed. The standalone grocery vegetable chicken meat and fish stalls are permitted till noon and 50 per cent customers are allowed at a time. Distribution of groceries meat and fish via e-commerce allowed till noon. The rest of the shops are disallowed.
